About

Built by a researcher who wanted a better reading habit.

PaperMigo started as a personal tool: a way to keep up with fast-moving fields without spending evenings sorting through alerts.

Why "Migo"

A friend who reads widely and tells you what is worth your time.

The name comes from amigo. Most of us find our best papers through a friend: a labmate who forwards something from a different field, or a colleague who says "you have to see this."

PaperMigo tries to be that friend at scale. It reads the new literature, suggests what fits your work, explains it plainly, and is honest about what it doesn't know.

Founder

Yichao Shi

Founder

Yichao is a mechanical engineer and postdoctoral researcher working where soft materials meet electronics, robotics and medicine, including electrochemical actuators, soft bioelectronics and neural interfaces. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and has published in journals including Nature Materials, Science Robotics and Joule.

Working across several fields made one problem very clear: the papers that matter most to a project are often published in journals you never check. PaperMigo is his attempt to fix that, starting with the fields he knows best.

Early access

We are inviting our first 20 researchers.

PhD students, postdocs and faculty in engineering and the life sciences who want a better way to keep up with new papers.
